Emission Inventory Review 2009

The technical review process in 2009 is carried out in three stages (like 2008). The implementation of the workplan for the 2009 review was discussed at a joint EEA/ETCACC/TFEIP/CEIP meeting on 4 February 2009. This year CEIP will produce again a separate Status report (Stage 1) and Synthesis and Assessment reports (Stage 2) for all countries which submit data. The difference to last year is, that these reports can be displayed/downloaded from the CEIP homepage and are no longer sent out per e-mail. The final Stage 3 reveiw reports are published also on the CEIP website.

The Parties ( CEIP contact points) have been provided with a username and a password to be able to access the 'Review results 2009'.

Stage 1

This status reports provide information based on initial automated checks (timeliness, formats, completeness) of CLRTAP and NECD inventories. The reports have been published by 16 of March. Parties had two weeks to provide comments.

Stage 2

The more detailed stage 2 review checks the consistency, comparability, trends and KCA of national inventories. The individual Synthesis and Assessment reports with review results have been completed by 31 May 2009. Countires had 4 weeks to provide comments to CEIP. 2009 submissions have been imported to WebDab by the end of June.

The centralised review of inventories was conducted 22-26 June 2009 in Copenhagen. Inventories of 10 countries (Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finnland, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Spain) have been reviewed by 2 expert review teams (ERTs). The ERTs compiled individual country reports and sent them to Parties for comments.
